10/23/06: Westlake, Ohio: Drifter Takes Plea In Westlake Rape Case

From the article:

The man who abducted a 23-year-old woman from the Promenade shopping center in Westlake pleaded guilty to rape and other charges today in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

The Promenade Shopping Center and Crocker Park forbid law-abiding citizens from carrying concealed handguns. Unfortunately, this case has not been a wake up call to the administrators at the Promenade and Crocker Park. Their actions created a criminal protection zone and made it "safer" for this scumbag to attack the victim.

10/23/06: Coshocton, Ohio: Couple, Guests Wear Camouflage To Wedding

From the article:

Mitch Colly and Robyn Broel of Massillon wore camouflage as they exchanged their vows Saturday at the Woodbury Wildlife Area outside Coshocton in eastern Ohio. Their guests and their dog also wore hunting attire

Congratulations to the bride and groom. Hopefully, you had some good venison steaksm to share with your wedding guests.

From the article:

An 11-year-old boy is in the Cleveland Clinic after being shot while hunting with his father over the weekend.

Hunting accidents are a rare, but tragic occurance. Incidents like this are sad, and should make every gun owner review the basics of gun safety. The Buckeye Firearms Association wishes the injured hunter a quick recovery.

10/21/06: Westerville, Ohio: Dorm Evacuated After Man Seen Walking With Gun

From the article:

Westerville police and Otterbein security said the incident turned out to be a good drill for them, but the student was instructed to not bring his practice weapon on campus.

Its scary that even fake guns are banned from campus. What is next, scissors?

10/21/06: Cleveland, Ohio: Store Worker Shoots Robbery Suspect

From the article:

Convenience store manager Mourad Abdelshahid survived a shootout with two would-be robbers Thursday evening and put one of the hooded gunmen in the hospital.

Convenience store workers have a VERY dangerous and thankless job. The stores are sometimes called "Stop and Robs" for a reason. This incident could have turned out worse if the store manager did not have the means to protect himself.
