What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.
From powerful rifles to online hunting licenses, these articles should be a part of your required reading!
What follows is several days of headlines accompanied by short, concise pro-gun analysis.
3/22/09: Cuyahoga County: Former Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Deputy Paid $6,500 Each For 2 Military Rifles Too Powerful To Use
Corrao said the .50-caliber rifles have been called on. The Secret Service feared an armored truck could crash a security barrier at Case Western Reserve University during a vice presidential debate in 2004, Corrao said. Deputies were equipped with the rifles but did not have to use them.
I think that the SWAT team should have access to these guns, but they should be trained in their use.
3/21/09: National: Crime Is On The Rise As Economy Falters, And Fighting It Is Expensive
From the article:
Perhaps no crime underscores how the economy is changing than a recent jewelry store robbery in Milwaukee. After the thieves got out of the store, a rival group of robbers stole their loot, according to the Associated Press. The incident is still under investigation, but evidence suggests criminals are being pushed out of correctional facilities quickly, leading to a vicious circle.
The system cannot protect everyone all of the time. That is why we have to have the ability to defend ourselves.
3/20/09: Parma, Ohio: Armed Men Bust Into Parma Apartments
From the article:
A group of Parma apartment complex residents is reeling after a series of strange overnight attacks.
Police said three men busted into several apartments at the Laurent Drive complex and opened fire.
Armed home invasions seem to be happening more and more. Are you prepared to defend your home?

From the article:
An ordinance enacting a new section of the city's planning and zoning code prohibits the sale or manufacture for sale of a firearms, firearm components, deadly weapons, ammunition, and explosive or combustible devices in areas zoned residential.
"There hasn't been a major problem, but we very narrowly limit our home occupations in our code, and we just felt that it would be better in the world we live in not to have firearms being sold in residential areas -- just from a safety standpoint," Law Director Ken Kraus said.
This is just another attack on the Second Amendment that is being sold as a way to keep us safe.
3/18/08: Columbus, Ohio: Man Robbed At Knifepoint Near Ohio State Campus
From the article:
Four men got out of the car and demanded money. The victim said they assaulted him with a knife. He sustained cuts to his abdomen and chest, as well as injuries to his face and ribs, police said.
Another violent crime strikes in or around a criminal protection zone.
3/17/09: National: Guns On A Plane
From the article:
Since Mr. Obama's election, pilots have told us that the approval process for letting pilots carry guns on planes slowed significantly. Last week the problem went from bad to worse. Federal Flight Deck Officers - the pilots who have been approved to carry guns - indicate that the approval process has stalled out.
Obama stated that he was not a threat to our Second Amendment rights, but it is was a flat out lie. He is so anti-gun that he is willing to endanger passengers by disarming pilots in order to control more guns.

This is great news! This will make getting a license even easier!
