There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.

From an armed teenager fighting of home invaders to a gun in a school, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

11/25/08: Ashtabula, Ohio: Police: Teen Shoots Burglary Suspect

From the article:

Linda Hanna's 15-year-old nephew shot one of three men in the leg when they broke into his home during an apparent robbery attempt.

Thanks to a firearm, the young victims are alive and were not harmed.

11/25/08: Rocky River, Ohio: Police Seek Walgreens Robbery Suspect

From the article:

Police said Carson robbed Walgreens Saturday morning and then robbed Third Federal Bank on Center Ridge Road.

Another violent crime in an affluent and "safe" neighborhood. We may see more of this if the economy continues to collapse.

11/21/08: Ohio - Statewide: Hunters Helping To Fill Food Banks

Ohio's hunters are helping supply food banks around the state.

The Hunters Feeding the Hungry program, developed in 1989 by Safari Club International, and Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry are seeking donations of hunter-killed venison. The game meat has been a staple for food kitchens and food banks in past years and is helping both meet increasing demands this winter.

The Hunters Feeding the Hungry program is a great cause that all hunters should consider supporting.

11/19/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Police: Man Attacks Library Patrons, Employee With Rock

Witnesses told officers that the assailant, 52-year-old Anthony Bailey, was loitering on the third floors when he produced a rock and smashed two male patrons and the 67-year-old female librarian in the head.

Another brutal attack in a gun free zone. Thanks to the law, the victims were unarmed and defenseless.

11/18/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Gift Cards, Cavs Tickets Offered In Gun Buy-Back Programs

From the article:

In exchange for operable handguns, citizens will be given a $50 gas or food gift card, two tickets to a Cavs game and will be entered into a raffle to win up to $1,000.

The facts don't lie...gun buybacks do not reduce crime. They usually only get guns out of grandma's attic and not out of a violent thug's hand.

11/15/08: Smith Township, Ohio: Boy, 2, Fatally Shoots Himself In Chest With Dad’s Gun

From the article:

A self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest claimed the life of 2-year-old Jacob Foor, said Police Chief John Siranovic.

Always make sure that you safely store your firearm. Accidents like this can be prevented.

11/12/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Shot Fired Inside CVS Store

From the article:

Cleveland police said the shot was fired at 10:24 a.m. during an attempted robbery at the store on Harvard Avenue.

Violent crime can happen anywhere at anytime. Always be prepared to defend yourself.

11/10/08: Dayton, Ohio: Loaded Gun Found At Dayton Charter School

From the article:

The Life Skills Learning Center in Dayton was placed on lockdown on Friday after a school security guard discovered a gun in a student’s purse.

Another gun found in a so called gun free zone.
