By Chris Chumita

There are more stories pertaining to our gun rights in Ohio then we can possibly draw attention to with individual daily commentary. But they are all worthy of mention.

What follows is our review of headlines from around the state though a pro-gun rights lens.

From Captain America packing heat to Cleveland's new crime fighting plan, these articles should be a part of your required reading!

1/28/08: Nation Wide: Captain America Lives Again

From the article:

Captain America is back and he's packing heat.

Cool! I might actually have to start collecting comics again.

1/29/08: State Wide, Ohio: State Asks High Court To Throw Out Challenge To Gun Law

From the article:

Attorney General Marc Dann asked the Ohio Supreme Court on Monday to throw out the city of Clyde's challenge to a state law allowing people to carry hidden guns.

The Ohio Supreme Court should throw out Clyde's challenge. We have a right to carry a firearm to protect ourselves in the parks that we pay for!

1/25/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Principal Proposes Gun Buyback Program For Kids

From the article:

A Cleveland elementary school principal is calling for a gun-buyback program for children after the shooting death of a 15-year-old Wednesday night.

What a stupid idea. All this program will do is give kids a chance to dump a gun they used in a crime with "no questions asked," and give them money to go buy a new gun.

1/25/08: Nation Wide: Free Book Offer! (From The JPFO)

From the article:

As the slug fest continues to win the White House, it is painfully clear that the next President will be anti gun ownership. JPFO can't change their "Guns are bad mentality", but we can make it easier for you to educate others about the evils of "gun control".

Until February 11th we are giving away a FREE copy of "Gun Control": Gateway to Tyranny. This book exposes the the use of the Nazi weapons laws to create the '68 Gun Control Act, giving the BATFE the authority to destroy the Second Amendment.

Do NOT pass up this great opportunity! I highly reccomend any of their DVDs, especially "The Gang" and "Innocents Betrayed."

1/24/08: Summit County, Ohio: Arrests Made In Summit Co. Armed Robbery Ring

From the article:

The robberies all involved two to three masked men with handguns threatening workers and demanding money, and all occurred between November 2007 and January 2008.

Thankfully, the police were able to stop their two month reign of terror. However, the police were not there and were unable to protect the victims when the robberies occurred. That is exactly why we must always be prepared to defend ourselves.

1/23/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Police: Armed Robbers Tie Up Pizza Store Workers

From the article:

Police are asking for help in stopping two dangerous, gun-waving robbers whose crime was caught on tape.

The robbery took place at Giorgio's Pizza on West 69th Street and Detroit in Cleveland.

Two men jumped the county and pulled out guns, and workers were ordered to the floor at gunpoint.

This incident is another example why a firearm is an essential tool for self-defense from violent criminals.

1/23/08: Cleveland, Ohio: Cleveland Police Begin Aggressive Crime-Fighting Plan

From the article:

Mayor Frank Jackson promised an aggressive plan to fight crime, and Thursday is step one.

Dozens of officers in all districts will conduct 20 hours of continuous enforcement for three days straight, going after drug dealers, gang members and guns.

Finally, the City of Cleveland is going to start targeting violent criminals instead of law-abiding gun owners.
