Springfield, Ohio man wins Springfield 1911 in second gun giveaway

Congratulations to Craig Kieffer of Springfield, Ohio, who is the winner in our second gun giveaway.

As you can see from the photo, Craig is one happy gun owner. When he confirmed receipt of the firearm from his FFL, he wrote to us and said, "I went shooting over the weekend and had a helluva lot of fun with it. It's a great shooting gun."

Craig is a lucky guy because this gun giveaway came with a couple strange twists.

First, we thought it was fun that a guy from Springfield, Ohio, would win a Springfield 1911. That brought a smile to our faces here at Buckeye Firearms Association.

Second, Craig wasn't the first person we chose to be the winner. When we had the random drawing, we selected a woman from Florida. However, when we called, she said she didn't want the gun. "I don't want to have anything to do with guns."

We wondered why she signed up for the gun giveaway, but even after trying to explain that she had won a nice 1911 and that we would ship it at no cost to her, she still refused. So we had to hold another drawing.

This time Craig's name came up. And he was quite pleased to be the winner.

As with our last gun giveaway, this one turned out to be a great success, with thousands of people from Ohio and around the country entering.

We love giving away guns, but there's a serious purpose behind the fun. To elect pro-gun candidates and pass good legislation, we need support from gun owners. These giveaways have proven to be an effective way to generate interest in our organization.

We will almost certainly have more gun giveaways in the future. So stay tuned.
