Senate joint resolution would block ATF 'engaged in the business' rule

NSSF fully supports the Congressional Review Act (CRA) Resolution of Disapproval of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) “Engaged in the Business” Final Rule. The CRA was introduced and led by U.S. Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) and was co-sponsored by 43 additional senators.

Ninth Circuit panel: Convicted felons have Second Amendment rights

On May 9, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit published a split decision vacating the conviction of Steven Duarte for violating 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). Given the history of the Ninth Circuit, it is almost certain the government of California will ask for an en banc (all judges) review of this case. En banc is likely to be granted.

Firearms industry surpasses $17 billion in excise tax contributions for wildlife restoration

NSSF, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, celebrates firearm and ammunition manufacturers topping $17 billion in total excise tax contributions to the Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund since its inception in 1937. When adjusted for inflation, the total is more than $27.38 billion.
