Ohio GOP primary critical in race for Attorney General

Buckeye Firearms' supporters know that the easiest way to guarantee pro-gun office holders is to guarantee pro-gun candidates on the ballot. From the standpoint of our endorsement committee, nothing is sweeter than being able to recommend support for every choice on the ballot. The November 2010 Ohio AG race has the potential to be a choice between two great firearm supporters, or a life and death struggle between an affirmed anti-gunner and a proven pro-gunner.

Obviously we would prefer two great pro-gun choices on the AG ballot come November, but that can only happen if pro-gun Prosecutor Dave Yost defeats anti-gun, Brady-endorsed Mike DeWine in the Spring GOP primary.

Regular readers of this website know how critical a pro-gun Attorney General is to protecting your firearm rights in Ohio, and the GOP primary presents a "night and day" choice between pro-gun Yost and anti-gun Dewine.

There is a chance for you to help out tremendously, and at no cost to yourself. BUT YOU MUST ACT IMMEDIATELY. Ohio law allows a single person to donate $50 to a statewide candidate, or a couple to jointly donate $100 to a statewide candidate, and receive 100% of the donation back as a tax credit on your Ohio income tax!

You read that right, you give a pro-gun candidate $50 or $100, and your tax bill goes down $50 or $100. It really is that simple. But you must act now, before the end of the year, to take advantage of this free donation. Here is what you do if you have not yet taken advantage of this free donation:

  • Verify you have paid at least $50 individually or $100 as a couple in Ohio Income taxes.
  • Click on this link (http://www.daveyost.com/donate) to donate $50 or $100 via credit card/ATM card, or to get information on how to mail a check.
  • On your Ohio income tax return, list the $50 or $100 and receive a dollar for dollar tax credit, which will then either be refunded to you or used to reduce any balance you owe on your state income taxes.

ACT QUICKLY TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE 2 PRO-GUN CHOICES ON THE NOVEMBER BALLOT FOR AG. The fewer "night and day" races we have in November means the more resources we can devote to the other critical races.

Judging by a recent email from his campaign, in which he laughably attempts revisionist history by claiming "strong support for our 2nd Amendment rights", DeWine is quite aware of his status among gun owners as a pariah.
