Late Saturday night, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued an order dissolving a prior order and reinstating a preliminary injunction that prevented the state of California from enforcing the expanded so-called "sensitive places" designated under SB 2, which were set to go into effect Jan. 1.

Happy New Year from Buckeye Firearms Association

Our resolution this year is the same as it's always been: to continue the fight for Second Amendment rights. The sad truth is that there are hundreds of civil rights organizations in the U.S. that ceaselessly fight for every conceivable human right, except the one they don't like. Even though the right to keep and bear arms is enumerated in the Constitution , well-funded groups such as the ACLU,...

‘Most memorable gun violence journalism of 2023,’ according to Bloomberg's Trace

The Trace, the propaganda arm of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s antigun empire, recently published their picks for “The Most Memorable Gun Violence Journalism of 2023.” If there were a Pulitzer Prize category for gaslighting, the 14 stories it highlighted would be serious contenders. Take a look.

Biden White House directs states to crack down on Second Amendment rights

Even the U.S. Justice Department — supposedly the executive’s guarantor of civil rights — is now drafting constitutionally dubious “model legislation” that states can use to crack down on gun owners. The effort shows Biden’s weaponization of government for political purposes continues to sink to new lows.

Seminar: Active Shooter Threat and Response with Ed Monk

For more than 40 years, the U.S. has been failing to respond effectively to active shooters. Over and over, we see the same behavior from individuals who seek only to maximize body count and get the media attention they crave. And we see the same failed planning and response from schools, churches, businesses, politicians, and the public. Why does this keep happening? And how can you plan and...

Judge shoots down Columbus gun control laws (again)

On April 25, 2023, Delaware County Common Pleas Judge David M. Gormley issued a ruling prohibiting the city of Columbus from enforcing its unlawful ordinances that outlaw certain firearm magazines and implement gun-storage restrictions. Columbus appealed the decision and has been enforcing their restrictions against the residents of Columbus. However, The Buckeye Institute asked for the appeal to...

Federal bill introduced to ban 'gas operated semiautomatic' firearms

President Joe Biden has long insisted he would ban what he calls “assault weapons” and has enlisted a motley succession of extreme anti-gun legislators to aid in that effort. Now Sens. Angus King (IND-ME) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) have joined that dubious collective by introducing perhaps the most sweeping gun prohibition bill of the 21st century.
